Hello and welcome to March! Hopefully you have just seen my friend Kathya's creations. She is amazing! I can hardly wait to hop along with you to see what everyone has made this month!
My projects for this hop includes a 3-D item!! I was not going to get the succulent bundle...NOT! But, as I saw more and more fabulous things being made with it, well... I LOVE it!! First thing I wanted to make were the 3-D and very realistic succulents. What FUN this was to make. I had purchased a low glass dish at Home Goods for 4.00!
The addition of rocks and moss really help to make them look even more real.
Next, I wanted to make a card that looked like a window.
I added moss to the window box and it is popped up from the brick "front" of the house. There is even "glass" in the window, using the window clear acetate!
I had three ladies that agreed to do a club for Sale A Bration. Each person was the host of their own party one of the months. The other two months they just had to order $50.00. They each got to pick a Sale A Bration item, plus they had a very special private class with me where we made 2 cards at each class. Free! The two cards on this post were the cards for this month! I think they loved them. With only three people in the class, I stepped up the cards, to make it even more special! We have a ball and get to laughing! Only one more month to go. One member is in Florida, so I make her cards for her and mail them to her.
This is the other card we made. Very elegant. I posted this on Facebook and someone asked if I would make a wedding card for her just like this, but change the verse. I did it, but forgot to take a photo! I may just make some for the rack.
The succulents are colored with the new watercolor pencils and a blender pen. We used a piece of plastic from the folders that our dies come in. I recently put all of my dies on magnet sheets which I attach to cardboard. I cut all of it to fit our DVD cases. It is much easier to find the dies I am looking for, thanks to the labels made on the label maker! I could NOT bring myself to throw away the folders. I am so glad I kept them. They make perfect pallets! You can take the pencils and scribble on the plastic. Then you can mix your colors just like on an artists pallet! Works beautifully! Plus you can wash it right off when you are done so it is ready to use next time. I keep a blender pen, pallet piece and my pencils in a DVD case, so I am ready to color anything!! :)
Here is a close up of the silver threads behind the die cut succulents. It helped to tie the whole thing together.
Do take a look at the bundle, on page 20 and 21 in the Occasions catalog. You get the stamps and the dies together for a 10% discount. If you order the bundle and the Designer Series Paper you would earn one free Sale A Bration item!! For this last month, Stampin' Up! has added 3 new goodies. Personally, I love the glimmer paper in THREE new colors!! All the look of glitter without the mess! You can even die cut it!
