February Blog Hop!

Hello everyone!
Happy February. We are looking forward to a warming trend, with the temperatures in the mid-seventies, which is perfect bragging weather!

Hopefully, you have just visited my friend, Kathya's blog. I can hardly wait to see all the amazing ideas from my fellow hoppers! Great Valentine's day inspiration!

My card features stamps from two sets in the annual catalog, found on page 46. The verse is from Bloomin' Love and the vine is from First Sight.

I started by making a stencil using the ultra thick cardstock and the largest of the curvier hearts from the Sweet and Sassy heart framelits. I taped it to my card front using removable tape and then with a piece of stamping sponge (I cut each of the rounds into quarter pieces) I sponged the outline of the heart with Pink Pirouette ink. Use a swirling motion to sponge lightly at first, starting on the stencil. This may seem like you are wasting ink, but the look achieved via this method looks so soft and there isn't a big blob of color anywhere.

Once I was happy with my sponging, I stamped the vine with Rose Red ink, directly over the stencil onto the card front. I removed the stencil and stamped the greeting over part of the heart. Sponging the edges makes it even dreamier! I used dimensionals to attach the top piece to a mat of Rose Red which had been attached to the Whisper White card base.

The ribbon is from Sale A Bration and you can get it for FREE with your $50.00 order. This ribbon is, in my opinion, not photographed very well in the Sale A Bration brochure. To me it looks almost like cording. I was very surprised to see how supple it is! Plus, you get one with gold threads woven through an ivory base and the one I used, which has silver threads woven into a white base.
A close up of the ribbon!

This is a very simple technique and one that ANY one can do! Try it!

Here is the card with added Rhinestones. I'm never sure which I like better... I like the sparkle, but maybe I added too many...or not enough!!
